The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has just expanded its Land Pass Program, which requires visitors 16 and older to purchase a daily or annual pass to access 41 state wildlife areas and ecological reserves throughout the state. The program began as a way to broaden the funding for these properties beyond hunters and anglers, and the good news is that these areas remain free to visit for those possessing a current California fishing or hunting license. CDFW’s Julie Horenstein highlights several Northern California Lands Pass properties along with the special recreational opportunities available at each one.
