ISE’s Fishing Shows Gather West’s Best Bass Pros

by Kent Brown

Bass fishing has for many years been considered a southern sport, with most anglers fishing the stump-filled lakes of Texas or shallow, grassy lakes of Florida. But the clear, deep desert lakes like Lake Mead and Lake Havasu in Arizona, and the tidal confluence of the California Delta or Clear Lake (the largest natural lake in California) are fast becoming some of the top bass waters in the U.S.

At the 2007 ISE fishing show, bass enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn about bass fishing—gear, techniques, destinations—in California, Colorado, Arizona and Utah from the top professional anglers.

Start with waters in Northern California. Largemouth Bass records from B.A.S.S. and FLW Outdoors (America’s leading bass-tournament organizations) have been caught from the California Delta. Numerous Largemouth Bass tip the scales over 10 pounds whenever these national organizations hold a tournament.

The clear, deep waters of Lake Oroville and Lake Shasta in the Sacramento Valley are considered some of the best lakes in the country for fishing Spotted Bass. These waters are now top angling destinations for serious bass anglers throughout the West. At the same time, these hard-fighting fish, which are smaller than their Largemouth cousin, are not only abundant but easy to catch even for novice anglers.

The 2007 International Sportsmen’s Expo tour will again present fishing shows and seminars every hour at ISE’s fish-filled Aquarium Demonstration Tank. Look for leading-edge seminars from top names such as Gary Dobyns, Mike Reynolds, and Jimmy Reese. The ISE fishing show also hosts a special Roundtable Seminar, hosted by Kent Brown, ISE Bass Program Director. Here’s the weekend warrior’s perfect chance to pitch questions to the top professional anglers, at your next International Sportsmen’s Expo!
