More than $10,000 in cash and/or product prizes will be awarded during the 2010 BOTW four-show tour. Prizes will be awarded to top three winners in each division. Every competitor in Pee Wee and Youth divisions will receive a prize.
Divisions
- Pee Wee Division: age 10 and under
- Youth Division: ages 11-17
- Adult Division: 18 and older, but no “professional” callers (definition below)
- Best of the West Division (BOTW), open to any caller
NOTE: Definition of a “professional” caller: a person who receives any sort of compensation from a game-calling company. All judgments regarding division qualifications will be made by competition host, and will be final.
A caller may enter only one division at competition.
Five top callers from each show
o;s Best of the West Division (BOTW) will qualify to compete in the Western BOTW finals at ISE’s Utah show in mid-March.
A participant may compete in the Best of the West qualifying rounds only until he or she qualifies for the finals. If a caller qualifies for the Best of the West finals, he or she may not compete in any other division that year.
Contest Rules

Only vocal calling or sounds produced by handheld or breath-operated instruments may be used. Electronic devices and the use of props such as trees, breaking branches and other devises are prohibited. Calls, grunt tubes or other instruments used may be a maximum of 4 inches in diameter and no more than 36 inches long.

CALLS: Contestants will base their calls on the following sequence: One minute for cow/calf sound, then one minute for bull sounds.The timer will start when caller makes his or her first call. Any contestant exceeding this time will be disqualified.

CALLING SEQUENCE: Each contestant will draw a number from a hat. One more number than the actual number of the contestants will be placed in the hat. The contestant who draws #1 will draw again and call twice. Contestant #1 will be scored but the score will not count.

SCORING: Scoring will begin with contestant #2. This process provides judges a chance to "tune" their ears. If a contestant misses his/her calling sequence, he/she will be disqualified. Judges will evaluate each sequence of calls 1 to 20 (1 the lowest, 20 the highest score). An odd number of judges will be used, with three the minimum number.

TIES: All ties will be determined in a call-off. Call-off scores are not figured into the total scores.
