 CAPTAIN JAMES "BASS" SMITH: James is 3rd generation Charter-Boat Captain of two “California Dawn” boats, fishes out of the Berkley Marina into San Francisco Bay, the Farrallons and Northern Coast areas. His 32+ years of expertise in putting his clients onto saltwater species of rockfish, lingcod, striped bass, shark, and crab make for interesting adventures.  At age 12 he served as a deckhand on his father’s boat. A charter captain most of his life, James has a vast amount of experience and expertise regarding fishing the bays for stripers, sturgeon, shark, halibut, rock cod, ling cod, crab and salmon and just about everything in between.
