Colorado’s backcountry contains almost 2,000 high lakes and innumerable miles of small streams containing mostly cutthroat and brook trout but also other salmonids. By understanding their fishery management, seasonal variability and entomology, one can develop a strategy and select fly patterns for successfully fishing them.
